Program Overview: English Language for Speech and Language Therapy
This English Language for Speech and Language Therapy degree has been developed specifically for those aiming for a future career in Speech and Language Therapy (SLT). While this degree does not lead to SLT certification upon graduation, it builds a strong foundation for further postgraduate study and subsequent certification as a speech language therapist.
You will become proficient in understanding how English works, why and how it is used, and where it has come from. The program covers the grammatical structure of English, the history of English, dialects and social variation, phonetics and speech sciences, aspects of cognitive and developmental psychology, and the methods and techniques relevant to speech and language therapy.
