The Visual Merchandising Arts diploma program at Conestoga College prepares you for a dynamic career in the creative industry of retail design and development. The Visual Merchandising Arts curriculum blends creative artistry with business strategy across four semesters. Courses progress from foundational merchandising principles to advanced retail design, culminating in a professional field placement and capstone project.

Introduction to Merchandising

Core

The cornerstone course of the program where you develop and demonstrate skills associated with the art and science of merchandising, including display techniques, window displays, and merchandising terminology.

Fashion Styling & Merchandising

Core

Covers all aspects of fashion styling, merchandising, and basic sewing techniques in both retail and editorial fashion contexts.

Graphic Design for Visual Merchandising

Develops your ability to create compelling visual communications and branding materials using industry-standard graphic design software for retail applications.

Prop Making & Window Display
