Conestoga's Game - Art diploma prepares you to design immersive characters, environments, and worlds for the gaming industry. Curriculum & Modules

The Game - Art curriculum is designed to take you from foundational art principles to advanced game asset creation over four semesters. Each module blends theory with hands-on studio work, ensuring you master the full production pipeline used in professional game development studios.

Introduction to Game History and Culture

From the earliest game of Pong to the latest AAA release, you will study the influence of games from a historical perspective, their impact on the industry, and explore future trends. Game structure and the mechanics of play are explored by constructing basic games.

3D Modelling Fundamentals

Learn the core principles and techniques of 3D modelling for game environments and characters. You will work with industry-standard software to create optimized 3D assets suitable for real-time game engines.

2D Art Assets and Concept Design

Develop foundational skills in 2D digital art creation, including concept art, character design, and environment illustration. This module focuses on visual storytelling and creating assets that inform the 3D production pipeline.

Texturing and Materials

Master the art of creating realistic and stylized textures and materials for game assets. You will learn UV mapping, texture painting, and physically based rendering (PBR) workflows used in modern game engines.

Environment Design and Architecture
