Curriculum & Course Modules
The Broadcasting - Television and Independent Production program spans four semesters over two years, blending theoretical foundations with extensive practical training. Courses progress from foundational media tools and storytelling principles to advanced multi-camera production, post-production finishing, and independent project development.
Orients students with video cameras and various grip equipment. Students learn introductory lighting techniques and how to capture audio and video elements to tell a visual story.
Covers multi-camera studio production techniques using Conestoga's HD studio facilities. Students develop skills in directing, switching, and managing live and recorded studio productions.
Focuses on writing for visual media including scripting for television segments, short films, and digital content. Students develop narrative structure, dialogue, and format conventions.
Provides training in industry-standard editing software, sound design, colour correction, and post-production finishing techniques to create polished broadcast-quality content.
Develops advanced skills in lighting setups for studio and field production as well as audio recording, mixing, and sound design for film and television projects.
